Edwards XDS and nXDS range of dry scroll pumps
Edwards XDS and nXDS Range of Dry Scroll Pumps For Marine, clean vacuum solutions for a wide range of applications. Scroll pumps are an excellent alternative to rotary vane pumps where oil free pumping is desirable.
Edwards XDS and nXDS Range of Dry Scroll Pumps For Marine have become the industry standard when dry pumping is essential, proving to be a robust and clean vacuum pump solution in a range of applications. Now, a combination of the patented double start scroll form technology and by-pass valves have enabled Edwards to offer the XDS35i Enhanced range of pumps to complement our original family.
The main fire pumps installed on ships are located inside the ship’s engine room, usually at the bottom platform. They are electrically driven from the main supply of the ship. It is very common to find them installed near general service pumps and ballast pumps. The general service pump lines are interconnected with the fire main and at times are used to provide water to the fire system. In some settings, they are also called general service and fire pumps. These pumps should not be used for pumping oil in any case. A changeover arrangement may be provided to use the main fire pump for general service, only when it is approved by the administration.
The general service and fire pump supply water to the following:
The number of fire pumps and their capacity will depend on the type of ship and its gross tonnage.
For Passenger ships –
Bearing shield ensures separation between process gases and bearing lubrication to ensure a clean vacuum and no possibility of contamination to lubrication from process gases, which prolongs bearing life. A simple single-sided scroll design allows maintenance to be done in minutes for the low cost of ownership and maximum up-time.
Edwards nXDS is a great new shape of dry vacuum pumping. The nXDS has taken scroll vacuum technology to the next level. Improved performance, exceptional pumping capability, quiet operation and extended service intervals make nXDS the ultimate dry choice.
You can be assured Edwards has the application expertise and the vacuum pump or integrated system solution to meet your needs.
