BK Series Bevel Geared Motor has new standards for reliability, efficiency, and economy and includes unparalleled standard features including hollow shafts in the smallest sizes. An inverter-friendly design provides for easy integration now and a truly future-proof solution. The BK gear motor offers total flexibility in mounting options including shaft, base, face, and flange solutions. The motor terminal box can be mounted in alternative positions rotated in 90º steps around the motor frame providing unparalleled integration possibilities.

BK geared motors comply with North American and International standards, including NEMA,  IEC, CSA, and CE, the BK series allows for worldwide acceptance, a true total solution for our global customers.

Superior protection of IP65 acc. to IEC 529 assures you that the BK series is dust-tight and hose proof, and can be used outdoors or in wet and dusty environments without the use of additional enclosures. Full-rated output is available at the output shaft of the unit.

Design

Housing

  • State-of-the-art gearbox housing designed for operation under harsh conditions.
  • Compact closed housing is ideal for preventing lubricant loss and dirt build-up.
  • High tensile cast housing.
  • Vibration-free housing, noise absorbent, and resistant to chemical effects.
  • The housing is machined in a single clamping process.
  • Stator housings with casing and cooling fins are manufactured in one casting and ensure efficient heat dissipation.
  • Motor housings, bearing covers, and terminal boxes are made of corrosion-resistant aluminum die casting.

Gear wheels

  • Gear wheels are made of high-tensile and case-hardened steel.
  • Highly wear resistant through the flank hardness of 60-62 HRC.
  • Impervious to shock.
  • Tooth flanks shaved, hobbed or ground.
  • Strong, non-flexible pinion shafts and bearings guarantee exact tooth meshing.

Stator winding

  • The stator winding is manufactured from high-quality enameled copper wire with state-of-the-art three layers of insulation in the groove and winding head.
  • The stator winding is impregnated with a damp-proof and tropical-safe resin.
  • The electrical design of the motor is adapted to the gearbox.

Rotor

  • The aluminium die-cast cage rotor ensures high reliability at high starting torques and low starting currents.
  • Pull-up torques are mostly avoided.

Terminal box

  • The spacious terminal box is also completely sealed against dust and water spray.
  • AA large measure on safety through CAGE CLAMP® connection technology on the winding ends and motor connection.
