Main starting air at about 30 bar from the manifold enters the chamber above the valve via the circumferential ports in the valve body.
The air starting valve of a marine engine is responsible to start the engine from a standstill or stop position.
It also helps in reversing and emergency stopping or crash stopping of the engine if needed.
Globe valve, a type of valve, is commonly used on board ships in places such as bilge suction lines. A linear motion valve, which regulates the flow of the fluid, the valve has a globe (bulbous) shaped body that houses the valve seat and the disc.
A variety of valves are used in the piping and machinery systems of the ship as per the need of the flow pattern of the liquid. All valves used on ships have the basic functionality of regulating the flow of the liquid in the pipes.
