Isoflex Marine and Industrial Gearbox Couplings

Isoflex Marine and Industrial Gearbox Couplings provide a sacrificial link that is designed to fail before gearbox damage occurs. Isoflex couplings assist engine mounts to do their job by allowing controlled engine movement to isolate vibration and helping to alleviate thrust-induced drive line misalignment. They are designed to cover a large percentage of Twin Disc and ZF gearboxes, plus many other gearboxes on the market.

While designed for marine use, these couplings are used in many industrial driveline applications too.

Marine Gearbox Couplings

Isoflex 4 Bolt Couplings

Four bolt couplings are used on four bolt-hole gearbox output flanges. Spigots or pilots can be either male or female, as determined by the gearbox. Isoflex couplings are configured to the most common flanges.

The IV range of Isoflex couplings is specifically developed to operate in a tensile condition created by integral V drives.

Isoflex 6 Bolt Couplings

Six bolt couplings are used on six bolt-hole gearbox output flanges. Spigots or pilots can be either male or female. Isoflex couplings are configured to the most common flanges. Note: certain couplings need a T bush kit. The IV range of Isoflex couplings is specifically developed to operate in a tensile condition created by integral V drives.

Isoflex 8 Bolt Couplings

Eight bolt couplings are used on eight bolt-hole gearbox output flanges. Spigots or pilots can be either male or female. Isoflex couplings are configured to the most common flanges. On Isoflex 8 bolt couplings, special steel spigots, pilots or registers are fitted to maintain absolute dimensions. Note: certain couplings need a T-bush kit. Isoflex can supply certain adapters.

Isoflex 10 Bolt Couplings

Ten bolt couplings are used on ten bolt-hole gearbox output flanges. Spigots (pilots) can be either male or female. Isoflex couplings are configured to the most common flanges.

Industrial Couplings

Isoflex Spicer/Uni-Joint Couplings

Spicer or Uni-Joint couplings are used on drive shaft flanges configured to standard Spicer, Uni-Joint or Cardan shaft drives. Please check torque demands.

Isoflex Flexible drive Couplings are designed to isolate drive line vibration, propeller pulse, and gear chatter. Properly installed they can assist in alleviating engine misalignment reducing the binding of the drive bearings. They assist the engine mounts to do their job by flexing with engine movement to isolate vibration.

In the event of the propeller hitting an underwater obstacle, the Isoflex Flexible Coupling is designed to be a sacrificial link failing before gearbox damage occurs.

Manufactured using a high-quality engineering polyurethane and a specialized machining technique to eliminate run-out and consequent vibration, Isoflex couplings are easy to install and usually, the propeller shaft does not require cutting. The majority of the larger 6-hole, 8-hole, and 10-hole couplings have precision machined steel index rings to maximize dimensional stability.

Isoflex takes the guesswork out of selecting the right coupling for your application with a simple step-by-step process shown in the attached product brochure which also includes handy cross-reference guides.

ISOFLEX ENGINE MOUNTS

For too long engine and drive line vibrations have been part of the boating experience. Our mission is to change this. We have developed a range of high performance engine and machinery mounts and flexible drive couplings, tailored to meet the demands of today’s installations. We also carry a vast range of replacement engine mounts and couplings to cater for the majority of marine engines and gearboxes in the field.

IsoFlex New Generation mounts

  • Isolate over 90% of engine vibration, throughout the rev range. Matched selection and performance to suit most applications.
  • Control driveline misalignment by being 50-100% stiffer in lateral and thrust directions. Designed to handle thrust and seaway-induced misalignments
  • Long lasting, resistant to fuel, oil, and water…..will not harden and become brittle. Reduces the hassle of regular maintenance changeouts
  • Fail-safe construction. Our mounts can even cope with complete knockdown or inversion and will not let an engine break loose. Other rubber construction mounts are bonded and rely upon that bond only to keep the mount together
  • An Economical solution, less expensive than original mounts, rebuildable and longer life. The working parts of our mounts can even be replaced at the end of their working lives.

IsoFlex Flexible Drive Couplings

  • Isolate drive line vibration, propeller pulse, and gear chatter
  • Help alleviate drive line misalignment, and prevents binding of the drive bearings.
  • Assists engine mounts to do their job by flexing with engine movement to isolate vibration.
  • Sacrificial link, designed to fail before gearbox damage occurs

The IsoFlex team has a combined experience of over 42 years in this field. We are based in the Australian Gold Coast Marine Precinct amongst some of the major players in the burgeoning Australian marine market and ship to both local and export markets.
