Propulsive coefficiency adalah harga perbandingan antara  EHP ( dari bahan kapal tanpa adanya tonjolan – tonjolan dan kelonggaran – kelonggaran lain) dengan BHP untuk motor diesel dan SHP ( shaft horse power / daya yang disalurkanmesin ke poros ) untuk kapal –kapal turbin.
PC    = EHP

PC  = EHP

BHP  = SHP
